maxresdefault300Far From The Tree

Parenting is tough, especially when the stakes are high. On an idyllic beach in the Pacific Northwest, curiosity gets the better of a young raccoon whose frustrated parent attempts to keep them both safe. In the all-new Walt Disney Animation Studios animated short, Far From the Tree, this young raccoon will learn that while there is reason to be fearful, as danger lurks around every corner, it is still possible to live with an open heart.

Far From The Tree was released in theaters worldwide on November 24, 2021 alongside the feature film Encanto. I pitched, directed, and wrote this 7-minute animated short film. Inspired by such films as Paperman and Feast, it utilizes a hybrid art style that blends CG animation, 2-D animation, and the Disney proprietary software Meander.

Listen to an interview about the short on NPR’s All Things Considered.

exchange-student-key-frame_300Exchange Student

Life is hard enough for an exchange student at a new school, but as the only earthling at a school for aliens, the central character in this fanciful story is the ultimate outsider and must prove her worth to be accepted by her unusual new classmates.

Exchange Student premiered at the 2019 Annecy International Film Festival, and now available to watch on Disney Plus (Short Circuit season 1, episode 2). I pitched, directed, and wrote this 2-minute animated short film. Inspired by such films as Paperman and Feast, it utilizes a hybrid art style that blends CG animation, 2-D animation, and the Disney proprietary software Meander.

Watch an interview about the making of Exchange Student.
